The book

The 64-page softcover book Kill Team: Arena explains everything you need to know about playing Kill Team competitively, from individual battles to various tournament formats:

Killzones: This section describes rules for extremely confined combat and four new killzone environments (Generatorium, Catacombs, Armorium Storage and Garrison Vaults), each with their own environment rules.

Competitive Play: This section contains competitive rules such as terrain maps and missions for use in games where good game balance is of utmost importance, such as those played in tournaments.

Companions: Introduces a cooperative format for playing team-based competitive Kill Team games, where each team of Companions consists of two players, whose Kill Teams must face off against their opponents to see who can complete the most mission objectives . Included are four comrade-in-arms missions and 28 comrade-in-arms tactics.

Ultima Missions: This section explains how to create custom competitive missions with the kill zones from Kill Team: Arena, using randomly determined kill zones, deployment types, and arena mission objectives. There will definitely be no competitive game like the one before it!

Kill Team Tournaments: Guidelines for organizing or participating in competitive Kill Team tournaments, explaining how to register players and command sheets, player pairings in each tournament round, and the scoring and ranking systems.

Competitive Play Missions in Campaigns: Guidelines for using the missions included in this set in campaign play.

In addition to the comprehensive book full of rules, Arena includes a set of cards, markers, terrain and game boards:

- 28 Companion Tactic Cards
- 12 mission cards, including the companion missions and 8 competitive play missions
- 2 sets of 12 Arena Mission Cards (one for each player). There is also a storage case for each deck of cards so that they don't get mixed up
- 2 double-sided foldable game boards measuring 22" x 30".
- 2 sprues with plastic terrain, each containing the following: 5 doors, 4 barrels, 10 crates, 1 pipe and 1 cylindrical container
