The theme of Pagoda can be summed up in one sentence: The Emperor of China has announced his visit and the players must build the most beautiful and magnificent pagodas in his honor. Each pagoda in the game consists of several floors, each supported by four pillars. The roof then ends with a peak that is two pillars high.

On a player's turn, he can build pillars, add floors or build a roof including a roof peak by laying out playing cards of matching colors. For this purpose, the players have a total of six building spaces available on the game board, on which both players can build at the same time. Victory points are awarded for each of these actions. For moving floors you receive special promotions that can be used to gain one or two advantages over the course of the game.

As soon as three of the six pagodas have been built, the game ends. The player with the most points wins Pagoda.
